My main responsibility is...
coordinating the Youth Beat Service, which works with young kids on the street, offering them any support they may need.
What I find most rewarding...
is working with young people over an extended period of time and seeing them go from basically having lots of issues to getting through it and achieving some goals.
The best part of my day...
is getting out in the streets and talking to young people supporting them and also working in our team. Our team has got a really strong bond, morale is really high and we all get along really well.
My biggest challenge...
would be dealing with the lack of services available for the young people in Darwin - mainly housing.
A benefit I enjoy...
is flexible working hours. It's changing all the time. It's not the same hours day in and day out and you're always out and about meeting new people and new services and new workers, so it's really good.
